Catching my breath

Just catching my breath from a very busy few days!

I attended Scrapvivor on Saturday at The Scrapbook Cafe. What a fun time I had!! I met some really great woman and had a really great expierence! I didnt win(I choked at the end) but I did have fun!!! The next one is in March and I will definetly be going!

I have been working every day since! I am off today so I can catch my breath! Hope everyone is having a good week. More later!

Butterflies in the Tummy

Just got home from work...not a bad night!

I am unwinding here at the computer and making a list of all the things I am packing in my bag for tommorrow's scrapvivor contest. I am excited because I know it will be a fun day...but I am nervous. EEK!!!!!!! I'm getting shy because I really don't know any of the ladies there. Please cross your fingers and toes for me tommorrow! LOL

Do you smell that?

When I stepped outside this morning to run some errands, I couldn't help but notice that change that had taken place in the air. It's fall!!! And it's my favorite time of year! It was clear and in the 70's here today and I am loving it!

Both the air and the pictures of Sasha's Home on her blog reminded me that I haven't done my decorating for fall. When I was out I stopped at Michaels and picked up a few things to make our place festive! (pictures to follow)

Today's my hubby's birthday! I went out and got him a few last minute things and picked up a cake. Usually betty and martha make an apperarance and I make a cake but my sweetie was in the mood for ice cream cake this year! I am off to start a special birthday dinner for him!

What a weekend!! Of course I had to work :( but it went by quick and it was tolerable because my super friend was there (she knows who she is...LOL). So I am home now and I am wired!

I have had alot of things on my mind this week. I have been contemplating going back to school for my RNBSN, whether I really want to do this scrapvivor thing next weekend, and fertility. I have been crocheting on and off since Thursday to keep myself from boiling over with emotion (it really works for me).

I've can now say that I have come to a few decisions. I decided to put off school for another year and focus on us starting a family and on me. I am doing the darn scrapvivor because if I ever want to further myself as a scrapbooker and as a creative person, I need to get out there and experience things. I am going to just go next Saturday and have fun with it.

Today was day 6 for me and my little Ovulation kit and still no happy face. You are supposed to get a happy face when you have a LH surge and are ovulating (Sorry if this is too much information for some of you :0 ). So I will keep trying....I gotta surge sometime.

To make myself feel better I bought a cute notebook from Red Velvet Art. I can't wait to get it. If you haven't already, check out her Etsy Shop.

I think I am going to make myself a big cup of Cocoa and relax.

P.S. Martha and Betty were back. I made two batches of fudgy brownies this morning...one for work and one for home. Mmmmmm....fudgy!!

Glovettes

So I wanted to share a picture of the gloves that I just finished crocheting. I am sooooo in love with them and I have already started another pair. I was debating over whether to do a buckle or a button and when I went out shopping today I found some great vintage buttons, clasps, and toggles to play around with. I chose the toggles for these.

Swapjack's and Buckles

I received my swapjack package from my partner Emeline in Singapore.I was so excited to see it waiting for me when I got home from work and Emeline really

Here are my 3 favorite things that I sent to my partner...



Favorite #1 is CO Bigelow Ultra Methna Lip Shine. You can get it at Bath and Body Works and I carry it everywhere. I even have one in each car...next to my bed...in my scrap area...at the computer. Yes, I am addicted.

Favorite #2 is Stickles by Ranger. If it is possible to use a product too much, then I do. Everything I do and create has this stuff on it somewhere. And I can thank the very talented Jen Starr for getting me hooked.

Favorite #3 are Soy Beads by Beanpod Candles. My favorite scent is Beachwalk. It is soo refreshing. I get mine at The Candle Factory in Beachwood. It is right around the corner and has the best selection around. I included the cute burner as it is also my favorite thing. It is a cream color with paisleys on it. Soooo cute!! I also got that at The Candle Factory. I have mine in my scrap area.

I had a really great expierence with this swap jack and I cant wait to do another.

Sooo...I am currently working on some cute crocheted gloves. I have them all done but cant find any cute buckles for them. I am going to go out again today and look at one more store before I go to plan B. Plan B is a button instead which would also be cute, but I really like buckles. What does everyone think? Buckle or Button?. Let me know!

I am working on pair number two. They were really simple and fun to make. I am thinking of selling them and some notecards that I made on Etsy. I'll keep ya posted!

New look

So the colors are different now. So much for that fall theme I was going for!

Not feeling it

Does anyone like the new colors? I am sooo not feeling it. I was trying to be with the changing season but it is not working for me. New colors and title coming soon!!

Good Day...Good Day...BAD DAY!!

I awoke to mind numbing cramps this morning and the thought of getting through another month of not being pregnant. We've made a conscious decision to try one more month and then we are going to a fertility specialist. I am not getting any younger and we are not ready to give up. I went a good few days without thinking of it.

We spent the day together...we got in the car and drove. I think it is affecting hubby now too. He has always been the one with the bright sunny outlook and he is frustrated now too. It helped for us to get away. We went south to look around the mall and lose ourselves.

I just got done reading a few of the blogs I frequent. I am supposed to work another double tomorrow which I am sooo not looking forward too now. I think I need to stop working the doubles.

New finds and such

I'm back and I have a few things to share. Last week when I went down south to a scrapbooking class, I stopped in this little victorian goft shop called Lizzie Rose. There were so many things there that I fell in love with. I was able to only make it out of there with these three. I definetly have to go back there with more cash!! Some really great finds.

I found this cute metal sign for my scrap area. It really fits in with my black theme....black desk...black storage...etc. LOL They had other that matched it...wish, dream...but this one is what I really needed. I am trying to figure out where to hang it now.



This antique coat hanger is another find from Lizzie. It was paired with the antique door knocker that I also got. They were used together, so of course I had to get both. Not sure if I am going to hang them together (on top of each other) like they had them. I think they will just be near each other. Here is the knocker.


I watched a great movie today and of course it make me cry like a baby, but it was a powerful story. Freedom Writers...wow...I dont know what else to say. If you haven't seen it, give it a try.

I am off to make dinner and get laudry out away. I am working 16 hours tommorrow so I'll talk to you soon!

Too early

I was feeling like Betty Crocker or maybe Martha Stewart this morning. I got up and made hubby pancakes before sending him off to work.

I am soooo going back to bed now. More later!

My Current Project

This morning I started crocheting these cute fingerless gloves!



I am making them for myself and if all goes well...maybe a few pairs as Christmas gifts. Crocheting has always been one of my comforting hobbies. When I need comfort, I turn to it. It helps me think and relax. I'll take a picture when I am done!

Scrapvivor 2007 Here I Come

Well....I did it! I signed myself up to participate in Scrapvivor on September 15th!! I already have butterfies in my tummy! :)

I have to start getting all my stuff together now. We can only being in one bag...no bigger than an XXL. Gaget's and Glue only!!

Still awake and keeping it real!

Me again and I am still awake. I have decided to never ever sleep again and so far it is working for me. haha

While lying in bed I began thinking that this new insomnia episode might be due to my recent state of mind. Hubby has been saying for the past few months that I am not myself, that I am blah. He asked me if I felt depressed. My response was that no, I am fine and yes, I do feel blah. With everything going on I am entilitled to feel strange and upset and blah but it is not depression. It is simply me trying to deal with life.

The only thing on my mind latley is getting pregnant again. I want to be a mother. I want hubby to be a daddy. I want to get on with our life and get past this. We have everything we have ever wanted but a child and it is killing us. Everyone is telling me that in time it will happen but you know what...that isn't helping me. I don't know what to do. I am going to continue to try and push it to the back of my mind and focus elsewhere.

I am promising to try and focus my mind and breath and scream maybe and try to have some hope.

I am blah...

What a blah day! It's the only way I can explain it! Please excuse this post...I am blaming it on the past 24 hours :)

I ended up staying at work till 4 AM this morning because a coworker called out at 10:30PM!! 30 minutes before her shift was supposed to start. First of all, let me say that if it was me, with my luck, I wouldn't have a job after doing that...but that is another story. Anyway....I shouldn't have offered because when I got home this morning I had just enough time to say hello to my hubby before he was off to work. What is that saying...two ships passing in the night. Well, we passed at dawn! So, off to bed I went and I wasn't able to sleep a wink. I laid in bed until 9AM before I tossed in the towel and got up. (There's that luck of mine again). Bottom line...I am tired and once again I cant sleep!

Sooo...My plans for today where to get out early and get some Christmas shopping done. (Yes, Christmas shopping. I have swore to myself that I was going to get it done early). I Got my self up and out of bed and off I went. I managed to get a few things.

I packages up and mailed out my swap jack package today. I hope my partner enjoys three of my favorites! After I know she has received it, I will post them. When I was putting it together, I started to think of the other things in my life that are my favorites...things that I wasn't able to include. I might have to work on something that displays my favorites.

I am siked about tomorrow!!! I am going to a canvas class at The Scrapbook Cafe! I have wanted to do one of these classes for a while. I will post a few pictures when I get home!

I just yawned so I am going to try and go to bed! Wish me luck!!

Rainy Day Daily Something

It is still raining here in NJ! When we stepped out the door this morning to do some errand, hubby said since I was going to be driving that I get to pick where we go! Well, I took full advatage of that and off we went to the LSS 20 miles away!! LOL...he is going to be more careful with his words next time! I was able to replentish my Stickles supply and I picked up some very cool monograms for a new project!! I'll be sure to post pictures of it when it is done!

My daily something is the day I got to spend with my husband! Sure, we were doing errand for stuff we needed around the house, but it was time we got to spend together. It made me feel good to make him a nice lunch before he had to head off to his class!

When I was in the scrap store, I signed up for a canvas class this Saturday being taught by Jen Starr. I am going to have to take the day off from work to go to it but what can you do. I have been waiting for her to teach another one around here and I am sooo excited to be going to it!!
