Resurecting Crafty Me

What do you do when your Inspiration Book no longer gives you inspiration? When you browse thru it and say to yourself "What was I thinking"?

Two weeks ago I purposly put my camera and other gear in my purse...the old Heather had it with her at all times and never was without at least 10 or so pictures from her day.

Lately my mind has been on what happened to me to lose my crafy sense. Where is the crafty girl?

She is in there somewhere...and really wants to come out...

I came to the conclusion that my enviroment has a large part to do with why I am not able to bring her out. Ugh! Not a thing that I am able to change at this time or in the near future.

Not sure what to do...

Just wanted to do a quick post with this pic...

This is my little basket that I have been toting all over the house with me. Sharpies, Wreck This, Colored Pencils, Some paint, and my Idea book/Sketch Book. I've been doodling and sketching alot.

Yesterday I started coming up with ideas for handmade christmas presents. I said last year that I was going to start earlier. Thinking of getting a few started tommorrow while hubby is at work.

creativity found

After being in our new place for a little over a month, I am finally getting back into creating and have found some inspiration (more about my inspiration as soon as I can mention it).

It's been a super long time since I picked up a paint brush and these past few weeks I've worked on this painting on and off. I've been spending time staring at the clouds and I have an obsession with the color yellow.
I've been wanting to share this page too! We got to play with some yummy Basic Grey for the design team at Scrapbook Cafe and I have to say it is and has always been my favorite paper line! Just love love love it all!

I created a cute little mini book too for Basic Grey month. I ::heart:: every single thing about their Urban Prairie line!

This morning I actually started a December Daily book. I was inspired by Ali's recent December Daily in July post. I will share pictures soon. The one's I took just didn't look right to me.

I decided that this book had to be smaller than the one I did last December and no fuss. Last year I had to have the perfect paper and it really took a bit out of me. I really hate that I over analyze things sometimes. I did learn a little since last year after reading Ali's last book.

For this year's, I made my front and back cover out of chipboard and pulled a bunch of Christmas paper from my scraps. Sooo much easier and it is done. Just gotta cut some pages for inside and I will bind it with my trusty bind it all after it is complete.

My Reading List

I love having wish lists. My MIL got me these great picks for Christmas and I sat down and got to look through some of them today. I am loving them all!

I made a little list from flipping through AE's new book and I am psyched to make some mini's. Such great idea's in here that I have never thought about for a mini.

I did a little in my Wreck this Journal..tee heee heee...I seem to like wrecking things. My only question about this book is, has anyone really followed the directions on the back and mailed it to themselves? I think it is a cool idea but I would be really sad if it never got back to me.

Ugh...it is 1pm and I have to go get some things done. No more reading for me!

Imagine MORE

Most recent to come from my desk...

This one was what I did for the OLW team search a few weeks ago. I was hesitant to post it but it didn't say anywhere on the site that we couldn't and I really wanted to share.

Happy Sunday!!

This morning when I stepped out the door to go to work I found a lovely autumn colored leaf on my doormat! I must confess...it made my heart skip a beat! I love fall! So you are probably thinking "well, where is the picture of it". I totally intended on taking one of it for this post, but when you leave it in a warm car for 8hours while you are working it just doesn't look the same! then the thought of taking a picture of it anyway crossed my mind and when I picked it up, it broke into pieces! It just wasn't meant to be blogged! LOL....my bad!! Here are some leaves from flickr for you to look at instead

This morning I spent some quiet time with a nice cup of tea and a note pad...compiling a to do list for around the house. Since I get off of work sooo early in the afternoon now, there really is no reason why I cant tackle a few things on the list before dinner! Now let's see if I can really make it happen!

I really wanted to share this site that I found a couple of months ago that I've been reading alot! Zen Habits has some really great material on it about productivity and simplifying your life!

Here is a great post that I just got done reading! I've vowed to my self to make a few of these hacks part of my daily life to make more time for my sweetie and for the things we really enjoy!

So I am going to do:
#3 Create a short list of the things we really like to do

#7 Start my day with peace in hopes that it will help me gather my thoughts and self for the day and maybe boost my productivity of the to do list

#11 Limit myself to 3 tasks off of the good ole to do list

#12 Limit myself to one project a week (maybe two) because I have too much going on at once on my scrap table and it is really hampering my productivity!

Here is another great post for you to read!

{prompt}

I am a few blog prompts behind from my class...here are a few combined:

"Share a list of links with your blog readers, leading them to the websites that inspire you most."

OMG, thisis an easy one. There are so many sites inspiring me right now. Here are just a few...
1. Flickr
2. Red Velvet Art
3. Craftershock
4. OLW
5. Sew,Mama,Sew!
6. Gourmet Mama
7. Create Something Today
8. Going Green Mom
9. Etsy
10. Ali Edwards

"share with your blog readers - one thing you have accomplished and one thing you hope to accomplish. Bonus points if you have a photo from the event!"

The one thing that I accomplished would definitely be becoming a nurse. (and yes, I have a picture..bonus for me) This is me and my friend Amybeth from school. We were joined at the hip!! Finishing school was definitely the hardest thing I have ever done and it was sooo incredibly worth it!

One thing that I hope to accomplish is to get healthier and lose weight. I think I've gotten to the point that I need to be at and I've gotten a good start towards accomplishing it! Now I just need to keep it up.

{Scrap NIGHT} before and after

Last night I got to finish up a few things I've had hanging out on my desk so that I could start working on some stuff for the class I am taking at Shimelle!

After packaging up a swap and a whole bunch of RAK's to be mailed, I got to use this {new and cute} little baby on a set of note cards that I just made.

{Then} came the real fun!!

I've been trying to decide what size album to use for my class and I made my mind up to step out of my 12 x 12 box and go with 8 1/2 x 11 for once!! I had a whole bunch of these babies hanging out in the top of my closet from nursing school and they are just begging to be put to use. Wish granted....here is the after....

Well...this is really the middle....

This is the after!!

Yes I ripped the poor thing apart and I duck taped it back together all pretty!! Can't wait to start the inside of it now!

I ::heart:: WEdNesday

...because it is my favorite day of the week. ((I would love to explain to you all why, but it's a long story!!)) Maybe I will on a scrapbook page sometime soon! :)

Today we are all set to relax by the family pool and catch some rays! This little guy is up to 18 lbs at just 10 weeks and he is going to the doctor for another puppy visit today!

Today I went on an inspiration road trip from the comfort of my own computer. Sometimes following links brings you to some sweet things! (an idea brought about through Ali's book that I am reading...see previous post)

New word-up at OLW...go see it NOW

Found lots of info today on some creative classes while visiting this blog :Eye candy and I am psyched for this one.

Can't wait to see what happens this month here....which really makes me want to make one of these and a few of these and a whole lot of these little sweeties!!!

What do you ::heart:: about today?

..it IS ok!!

These past few weeks I have been reading this book by Ali Edwards and one of the main things that stayed in my head so far is the title and info in Chapter 1. It's entitled "it is OK" and there are some powerful inspiring words there! I know already that this book is helping to change some of the ways I see things around me and my scrapbooking. Just a few quotes because I don't want to get myself in trouble sharing too much of her book...

It is OK...to let go of the feeling that you need to have a specific style
It is OK...to repeat what works for you
It is OK...to use what you have on hand
It is OK...to use the awesome products you've been collecting

I'm still in the middle of reading this great book and I will hopefully share some more insight about it later this month!

Today was another one of those 1st of the months where I said to myself that life moves fast and that you should enjoy every minute! I spent quality time with my loved ones and did just so. It's also another one of those days where I had time to think and jot down creative thoughts I had in my head. When I sat at my desk tonight though, I was unable to make anything. Is it possible to have too many ideas or too much creativity in your head? I didn't think it was, but I was wrong. I'm blessed to have wonderful product around me to capture our life and I was unable to tonight. I finally pushed away from the desk and turned out the light.

But...it is OK!! Because it is OK to be open and embrace the process of creativity!! (and I certainly have some of it going on right now!!) I am the creative director of my creativity!!

No Title Tuesday

I visit this blog on a regular basis. I love Ali's style and the fresh ideas she is always coming up with. The inspiration is just flowing from her and someday I will catch some of it. :) Anyway....She has a little contest at the bottom today and she asks today what your favorite tip for journaling and getting your words down are. I thought I would share what I do while creating. Here are mine...

I'm usually thinking of my journaling before the page/project is made...I keep some scrap paper next to my desk and jot down what I am thinking of saying.

What I have done to help my journaling easier and quick is, I purchased little journaling spots from a great little shop on etsy: everyjotandtitle.etsy.com! (love the name) They come in white and Kraft and really match almost everything I am creating. Follow these links to see them....
White
Kraft

I also bought some journaling spot stamps from Autumn Leaves which make it really convenient to stamp right on my project and some journaling spots from Heidi Swapp.

All of the spots have a special place on my desk and Now when I go to put a page or project together, it is just like picking out an embellishment!
Hope this helps someone!

Pics will be up tomorrow of the layouts i just finished! I am up to three! Still working on the little canvas's. I need to go steal.....borrow...acquire. Yeah, that's it I need to acquire some beach sand. LOL
