Snow day!!!

We are expecting 8 to 14 inches of snow here today so I am taking the time to relax in bed a while this morning and surf the net on my handy new computer. (I am working up the courage to use the webcam to take a picture...LOL)

Just came across this article on the NY Times site that I wanted to share about ETSY and the crafters that are making their living from selling. Here is the link....its a good read. Definetly dream of a job if I wasnt a nurse. Even a little side buisness would be a dream.

Anyway...this afternoon will be dedicated to moving my scrap area to a little (seriously little) area of our bedroom. I hoping it will spark some creative movement in me. I have sooo much to do.

Just wanted to do a quick post with this pic...

This is my little basket that I have been toting all over the house with me. Sharpies, Wreck This, Colored Pencils, Some paint, and my Idea book/Sketch Book. I've been doodling and sketching alot.

Yesterday I started coming up with ideas for handmade christmas presents. I said last year that I was going to start earlier. Thinking of getting a few started tommorrow while hubby is at work.

~Our cat that ran away a week ago came back during the night

~I only have to work 4 hours today

~My scrap stuff is almost unpacked and my desk is cleared off (EEK!!!)

~As always...I am loving the Craft Critique



~True Blood is on tonight....seriously good show peeps....check it out...my favorite show right now ( did I really just type the word peeps??? I need to create...I am losing it)

~That I am finally getting back to blogging....finally getting rid of some of the moving boxes (I dislike cardboard boxes at the moment)....that I will finally get to create something after work today for the first time since the move!!

Just another aqua colored Sunday

OMG....thank goodness I was off today. I realllly needed it!
I have to say that the only thing good about working the night shifts at my old job is sleeping in the next morning. Today was the first time I actually slept in since then...it was sweet!!

I took a drive to my LSS, Scrapbook Cafe, and stocked up on some scrapbooking goodies! It was a nice drive and I enjoyed the autumn color that is really starting to come out everywhere around here.

Scrapbook Cafe is running a Design Team search right now and I have sent an entry off to them in hopes of being picked! We shall see!

Right now I am sipping some tea and cursing at the computer monitor which is a bright shade of Aqua. The past few weeks we have been having issues with it and I can't for the life of me figure out what to do about it. Buying a new one is out of the question. I was catching up on my Grey's Anatomy episodes online a little while ago and all of the character's were a little cyanotic from the aqua! Most people would be freaked out about this but I found it comical and interesting (well I am a nurse...blue lips interest me). Please...if anyone has had this happen to their monitor please let me know...I am looking for any help I can get.

Just finished up a layout this morning too....inspiration from all of the thoughts that have been going on in my heads lately about our great economy. I'll post it tommorrow...gotta wait till I have a moment of no aqua.

Random Things and More

Today on my NJ Scrapping group there was a post for random things about yourself. Here are 5 Random me things:

1. I am a tea drinker and I save the little tags on my Red Rose tea bags (for a huge project someday).

2. I have a thing for blog's...I check about 25 on a regular basis.

3. I love all animals but cannot stand bugs of any kind!! They really gross me out!!

4. I text ALOT....I would rather text a person that call them (the shy person in me I guess)

5. I broke the needle on my sewing machine this morning and scrapped the project I had just started

Here is the proof for Number 5...it is my little garbage can in the scrap room!! The little needle just snapped in half!! Very sad because I was soooo excited about making it, especially because for the first time I took my little sewing machine off of the straight stitch and tried a zig zag :( I saved the little broken needle. I might have to scrap it. :)

I am traumatized over this needle thing, so that is it for now. My goal for today is to take some pictures for a few projects I am working on before I have to go to work.

Bummed!!

Sooo bummed about this!! I am going to miss Polaroid! I pulled out our camera and I am going to pick up some film for a little project. I might have to put some away for the future as well!

Craft of the Day

Wanted to share something today that I actually found weeks ago. While searching on the Martha Stewart site looking for valentine and spring crafts and I found the Craft of the Day. There are some really cute ideas here...here are a few that I like... this, this, this, and this one that also makes a great gift idea.

I am excited about tomorrow....I am spending the whole day at a class called "The Ranger Extravaganza"!! 7 hours of nothing but Ranger products and how to use them to do some amazing things. I signed up for this class in December and I have really been looking forward to it.

Randomness

Christmas is done...Wondering what is in store for us in the new year...Will our resolutions stick for once...Where will we be financially this time next year...Will I ever get that crocheted jacket done...When is RV going to announce the next kit...I am soo jones-ing for hot chocolate with baileys...I forgot to water the christmas tree today...I'll miss the christmas decorations when they are all packed up...Is it ever gonna snow...Ugh, I have to go back to work tommorrow...I ::heart:: the color pink!!

Do you feel what I feel..

Lately I have been doing alot of other crafts besides scrapbooking. Crocheting and working through this holiday week has been taking up my time. Today I plan on sitting in my scrap area, and after a quick clean up, I am going to make something!

I am feeling the need to get back there! I have always said that scrapbooking is my outlet, my therapy. It's the cure all for what ales ya! LOL

This is also an area where I have WIP's (works in progress..a crochetville abbreviation for ya). They all get done in their own time. I am think of making a goal to get one of them done soon.

Here is a really bad picture(from my camera phone) of those photo holders I mentioned a while back. I got them at Pier One months ago and I plan on making little scrap pages to go in them for Christmas presents.


I am still waiting on that battery cover for my camera, so please bear with me as I share a few more camera phone pictures. Apples and Clemintines from my counter...hubby likes clemintines now too so i can buy them without them going bad.


Some nuts....Hubby's family always has a bowl of mixed nuts and a cracker out around the holidays...it is something that they have always done, so I got these for him. It's a tradiotion for us now too!!

Darn Darn Darn!! I missed the November Paper Kit from RV. ::pout::pout:: I blame it on the doubles I am forced to work to keep up this fabulous life style I have (yeah ok)!

Been busy here with stuff around the house and work. Been patiently awaiting the arrival of my October project kit. I have such an idea for it....has anyone guessed what it may be?

I am off to relax on the couch and wait for Grey's to come on.

Where's my mixmaster!!!!!!!

Today was a blah day for us. We stayed in the house and vegged all day. I was able to make a nice dinner for us and we were able to get the much needed down time we were craving!

I am sooo excited to tell you that I scrapped today and I finished our wedding album! There is nothing like the feeling of finishing something! I am starting on our honeymoon pctures now but I am contomplating whether I am getting a new album or if I am going to put them behind the wedding pictures. Any suggestions? We were married and honeymooned in vegas so it was like it was combined...I dunno...I am open to suggestions!

Grey's was just on and I am loving it! When is it gonna be George and Izzie's time? I so want them together and I was soo excited that they ended it last week with him on her dorrstep. Although I don't care for Callie....I feel a little sorry for her. I couldn't believe Mama was there and I have to say I cried for Christina...where is my mixmaster? I sooo would have got rid of mama for her for the mixer!!!

I made Chicken Kiev tonight for dinner from one of my scrapbooks and it was sooooo good! If anyone would like the recipe please let me know. It was yummy!!!!

Do you smell that?

When I stepped outside this morning to run some errands, I couldn't help but notice that change that had taken place in the air. It's fall!!! And it's my favorite time of year! It was clear and in the 70's here today and I am loving it!

Both the air and the pictures of Sasha's Home on her blog reminded me that I haven't done my decorating for fall. When I was out I stopped at Michaels and picked up a few things to make our place festive! (pictures to follow)

Today's my hubby's birthday! I went out and got him a few last minute things and picked up a cake. Usually betty and martha make an apperarance and I make a cake but my sweetie was in the mood for ice cream cake this year! I am off to start a special birthday dinner for him!

Good Day...Good Day...BAD DAY!!

I awoke to mind numbing cramps this morning and the thought of getting through another month of not being pregnant. We've made a conscious decision to try one more month and then we are going to a fertility specialist. I am not getting any younger and we are not ready to give up. I went a good few days without thinking of it.

We spent the day together...we got in the car and drove. I think it is affecting hubby now too. He has always been the one with the bright sunny outlook and he is frustrated now too. It helped for us to get away. We went south to look around the mall and lose ourselves.

I just got done reading a few of the blogs I frequent. I am supposed to work another double tomorrow which I am sooo not looking forward too now. I think I need to stop working the doubles.
