Bummed!!

Sooo bummed about this!! I am going to miss Polaroid! I pulled out our camera and I am going to pick up some film for a little project. I might have to put some away for the future as well!

You can read more about it here and here!

I am sitting here remembering all of the polaroid pics we have from when me and my siblings were little. It's bringing back some really cool memories! On a good note...here's a cool site celebrating our favorite instant film!

I ::heart::Cody

This is Cody! Isn't he cute!!!! He is the newest part of our family. My MIL adopted him through this great web site called Pet Finders!! Before Cody came to live with us, he was living in a Kill Shelter in Arkansas. Yesterday his foster mom dropped him off and we are soo happy to have him! He is such a sweet puppy and is soo good with the other furry friends living in the house(two cats and one Labrador)!

Pet finders is a great way to find a new addition for your family! I hope you all will take the time to check it out and will give it some thought the next time you are looking for someone to give some love to! More pictures of Cody to come!

One big post (and more happiness)!!!!!

I thought since I am sitting here waiting for my nails to dry, that I would try and post a few things I've been doing. I finished yet another project that I started in December...yes, I'm just a bit behind on things.

I got this cute little mini chipboard book as a add on with the December RV kit and I just finished it.

This a mini book of our Christmas traditions. There are still blank pages in it because I intend to add to it in the coming years. I am soo loving this book!

Moving on...I posted that I was working on something with my 2008 word "more". This is something that was inspired by a post on Ali Edwards blog as a weekend creative. I had some chipboard letters left over from the Ranger class that I took and I put some glossy crackle accents over them. That was the drying time I hated! Then, I wiped them with some acrylic paint and when they were dry I put them on my inspiration board in my scrap area. I have only had them hanging there for a few days now and they are a great inspiration. I see them every morning when I wake up and when I lay down to sleep. They are really helping to keep me focused.

I just got done with my Subject 3 for Overlooked. My layout is done and I am proud to say that I did two things on this layout (maybe even more) that I've never done...I used Blue and I Doodled on it!! Doodling is so outside the box for me, so I think this is a small step in a positive direction.

And now the happiness that I promised...I was going to post a pic for this a few days ago with the other happiness stuff but I didn't have the permission to use the pictures yet. (yes, I have it now)
These pictures are from a friend of mine. Her daughter's brownie troop marched in a St Patricks Day parade and I consider them happiness because I see the brownies doing the things that I did as a Brownie (all of those years ago) and having the fun that we had. That is a truly priceless to me! From what I hear they all had a great time! Thanks to Gretchen for lending me the pics!!

That's all folks....why do I think I am forgeting something? Oh well...my nails are dry so off to work I go.
Hugs and Happiness!

Finally

Butterflies are self propelled flowers. ~R.H. Heinlein

I finally got this project done. I can't wait to hang it...waiting for hubby to get home to help (being short sucks!!).The butterflies were actually from a 12 x 12 sheet of K and Company Vellum. I wish I had another sheet of it because I would make another. I have never been a mobile person, but I can say I am now.So glad to finally have a cute spring decoration for our home!

I got a sweet package in the mail today..these arrived! Can't wait to get cracking on a clear album! I've got the next 3 days off, so cross your fingers that I get some play time in my scrap area!...which is looking mighty cleaner by the way...I made a few improvements that I'll share as soon as I find the floor again!

Hugs and Happy Scrapping,
Heather

I ::DONT HEART:: drying time!!!

Made some progress on my take of the Weekend Creative project from this weekend. Just waiting for a few things to dry so that I can finish it.

Also started a little side project of my 2008 word. Just waiting on it to crackle so that I can put a little finish on it. Feels good to get some if the ideas that have been swirling around my head these past few days out and created.

9 HOURS!!!!!

Got back from the best class ever just a few minutes ago. 9 hours of inking/painting/creating taught by this talented woman! That's for another awesome class Jen!!

I'll show you what we made as soon as I recover.

I think they are permanently stained from all the distressing inks, paint daubers, alcohol inks and the color wash. (Damn my hands look old...it's all the hand washing at work I think)

Hope everyone had a good Saturday! I'm gonna try and do the Weekend Creative tomorrow and get my picture posted for Overlooked Subject 3.

Hugs and Happy Weekend!!

I ::heart:: three columns!!

I finally did it! More to come! Still trying to find a look to love! I'm gonna have to start from scratch I think to be able to get it.

Craft of the Day

Wanted to share something today that I actually found weeks ago. While searching on the Martha Stewart site looking for valentine and spring crafts and I found the Craft of the Day. There are some really cute ideas here...here are a few that I like... this, this, this, and this one that also makes a great gift idea.

I am excited about tomorrow....I am spending the whole day at a class called "The Ranger Extravaganza"!! 7 hours of nothing but Ranger products and how to use them to do some amazing things. I signed up for this class in December and I have really been looking forward to it.

More again really soon!

Update and Such

Remember these guys? My halloween/christmas pumpkins?

Well, the red one is still hanging around my front door. It just wont die!! My neighbors asked us yesterday what we did to it. Seems, all they need is some glitter and glue and they live forever!!

I've spent the last week reviewing the 2008 goals that we set. I am proud to say that with the exception of two, we have stuck to them! The year isn't over yet so I am not giving up hope on the other two.

I've been searching the net for a cute easter project to do, and still haven't found anything cool to make. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! I saw a few things on Martha Stewart but nothing jumped out at me.

I'll tell you what, these jumped out at me!!

I love stamps!!!!!!

I love glitter even more!!!!!!!

I think I will dye some easter eggs this year a whole new way.

Weekend Creative

I've been wanting to try one of the weekend creative projects that this inspiring woman has been posting on her blog but I haven't had the chance to till now. Ali posted a cute valentines book and tonight I made one for Jeremy as a anniversary surprise.

I started it early, because I didn't know how long it would take since I was hand stitching everything. Would you believe it took a little under 2 hours to finish? I am loving these projects!!

Here it is:

I am psyched that this is complete and that all I have to do is add journaling. I think my favorite part of the book is the inside cover where you can see a heart stitched from the front cover heart.

I am working on a few other sewing surprises for him!
Hugs,
Heather

Almost back

I got a wopping 5 hours sleep last night! It is a start and hopefully tonight will be better and I can get back to some kind of sleep pattern. Here I sit in from of the computer with my little friend and some warm comforting tea.

With all of my non sleeping time, I have been keeping my hands busy with my current crochet project and have found some much needed time to browse my favorite blogs!

While browsing this morning I came across this blog and the cute project she is starting. The super short story tag book sounds like something cute to do and something I could make from my stash! I love making things from the stash now!

1. Tree lines SKY, 2. Cloudy background, 3. Hanging out, 4. Camera Love

How is the music?

Me + Insomnia = :(

The past few days have been rough here. Hubby and I both have had a bad case of insomnia. Most likely brought on by the recent stress and going-ons with family and work. Day three for me and I am wearing down...hopefully as soon as I hit post on this I will be able to settle in for the night. (Fingers crossed)

With all this newly found time, I've been keeping my hands busy. I pulled out one of my crochet UFO's (unfinished object) and I went to work on it. I am deeply fond of the color red and no, it is not because of my hair color(hubby thinks so). I just think it is color that calls to me and always makes me cheery! I fell in love with this pattern for a throw and knew I had to make it. I am up to 10 squares and I need 35.

One of the things that made me smile today is after I finished a few squares, I put them side by side of the ones I made months ago and realized how far my crocheting has come. There was quite a difference in the shape around the edges and I could see that my stitches were nice and clean. I kind of got some butterflies in my tummy when I saw it.

I'll be sure to post a picture when I am done. I'm still working up to the point when I will be good enough to make this coat that I am still dreaming of....my pattern reading is not quite there yet.

Off I go to bed. Hubby has fallen asleep successfully I think...Wish me luck!

TLFE

Do you recognize this symbol?

These little symbols decorated many of my notebooks in my younger school years. I was reminded and inspired by it when I sat down to scrap a picture that I just adore from this past valentines day. I used a few things from my February RV kit in this one and a few things that I picked up with a christmas gift card. This was also inspired by challenge 8 over at ScrapMojo. First time I have ever done one of these challenges. Once again...I didn't get it done by the 15th deadline...oops!!

Pink and red are my usual favorite colors and I love this time of year because they are everywhere! Who do you TLFE?

before AND after

Last night I was held up in my creating area with this little baby. The album I have had for about a year. I picked it up for a ridiculous price at Borders. It was one of those things...like many things in my stash...that I was saving for just the right project. I think I've found the right one...

Before:

After:

A few things about this:
1) I used the cute flowers given to me by Gretchen (thank you G)
2) Those white buttons in the title are recycled...they actually came off the uniform I had to wear in nursing school...is it weird that I get warm fuzzies when I see them?
3) I used the felt Thickers in the February RV kit and I must say, they are SWEET!!
4) I took a ton of pictures of this cover, trying to get it just right and I posted the very first picture I took of it.
5) My desk may look neat in that first picture... but it really isn't!!

Another post soon....I'm working on something in pink, red and RV today!!

Heather

Happy Valentines Day

I had a great day today with my valentine. We were able to sleep in and spend the whole day together!! Tonight I made Chicken Kiev and Twice Baked Potates (hubby's favorite) for dinner and then we had some chocolate heart cake. We went to a few stores early in the day too and made a stop at my MIL's house. Hubby was looking for something in the garage and came across this sweet find!! A little basket with some whimsies in it. It contained three that I didn't have from the early collections!! :)

With hubby's help, I was able to get a few good pictures of my Overlooked layout for Subject 2. Few things about this layout:

1. It was sooo much fun to make and I made it completely from my stash!! Two of the things from my stash have been in my stash for years!!

2. Not my usual colors....there is a secret to the colors...can you figure it out?

3. The journaling box was inspired by the nutritional facts label on the side of the red rose tea box! I even recycled some of the box on my layout.

I'm going to go drink my tea and get ready for bed now.
Hugs and Happy Valentines,
Heather
